Saw my Argus sitting dusty on a shelf, a bit unused and unloved for awhile, except as a prop. Thought I'd try a little ttv again, but being to lazy to get out my "contraption", I just set it on a table and balanced myself on a rather high stool to take this shot.

46-366 a bit of bloom in February
I love buying an amaryllis bulb every year just after Christmas. They are inexpensive (this one was $3.00 and included the soil and pot) and provide a little cheerful color, as well as a photo opportunity, when they bloom in a cold wintery month.
What more can you ask of 3 bucks:)

Love my e-reader, never thought I could get used to it so fast. Our house is overrun with books, so it really keeps the clutter down.

Another birthday dinner out, this time I subbed a small camera for my phone, but the pics aren't much better :(
And, no, I didn't eat all of these, but I did try each one :)

Last week was my birthday. My husband said I managed to drag it out a bit into several dinners out with family.
This one was at a restaurant called "Eleven". Wonderful food and my camera phone absolutely does not do it justice, especially in a dark restaurant!
1. Tuna Tartare with Meyer lemon mignonette, pea tendrils, white anchovy
2. Roasted Sweet Potato and Pumpkin Soup with curry and shallots
3. Beet Salad with brioche, pear, lolla rossa, citrus, crème fraiche, maple vinaigrette, pumpkin seed
4. Lamb
5. Beef Tenderloin with roasted cauliflower & broccoli rabe, chimichurri, crispy potato gratin
6. Chocolate-Peanut-Pretzel Candy Bar
brownie, peanut brittle, milk chocolate-peanut butter ice cream
7. Meyer Lemon Pudding Cake
coconut milk granite, hibiscus syrup, pomegranate, candied macadamia nuts

I love bookstores. All those books, each with an adventure or a fright or a piece of wisdom.
I have had a Nook for over a year now and read almost all my books on that, but nothing beats browsing in a bookstore :)

37-366 Our weirdly warm January/February has my daffodils poking out their sleepy little heads wondering why they are waking up so early.

My daughter is playing a video game and Loki likes to settle in on her lap and watch the game, too. He wouldn't look at me for the shot until I tricked him by saying "Treat?"
Smart cat, he only fell for it once, so this is the only pic I got. He'd rather watch her slay dragons.

definitely can lift your spirits.
The flowers I had on my desk may have dried, but some that were downstairs in my kitchen were lingering on, so ... another flower shot! I decided to give the flowers a soft focus, but now that I look at it, I'm not so sure that was a good idea.
LOL, I've got to take my camera out of the house more :-)

32-366 it's a good day
when the sun shines, you have some coffee and a camera. Simple things are the best!

Basil, sundried tomatoes and pine nuts. Yum! I guess the [i]real[/i] after shot would have been crumbs, but that would look less yummy :-)

This was my favorite morning coffee mug until the handle broke off unexpectedly. Thank goodness it was empty at the time. It says "Cafe DuMonde" on the side, a souvenir of a visit to New Orleans. Reused the flowers from a previous day, only now they're a little dry and brittle. Cloudy winter weather does not leave me feeling very creative!

Rain, rain, dreary, dreary. I know it's a mild winter and I'm thankful for very little snow, but the gray skies can really bring you down. So it just might be that I fall back onto flower pics for awhile.
Just a square crop, a levels adjustment and a color fill to perk it up :-)

My last 365 a few years ago had me constantly carrying my large dslr. So much easier this time with a phone that takes halfway decent pics. Now there are few excuses when your day is hectic!

My daughter is testing out some dessert ideas for the restaurant. We get the benefit of the taste-testing. Not sure my waistline thinks of it as a benefit, though lol!
