Day 297-365 "Fabric Rainbow"

Day 297-365 "Fabric Rainbow", originally uploaded by saralonde.

Trying a few very narrow dof shots just for fun. Store was a bit busy, so it was a little awkward trying to get this shot and it didn't quite come out as hoped.

Day 299-365 "Fright Night"

Day 299-365 "Fright Night", originally uploaded by saralonde.

A few taken at "Fright Night" at Kennywood Park. I put my little point and shoot in my pocket and amused myself taking dreadful pics while standing in line in the freezing cold.

Day 298-365 "Rose Diptych"

Day 298-365 "Rose Diptych", originally uploaded by saralonde.

One of my rosebushes is putting forth a valiant effort to keep summer alive. It is right next to a kitchen window and I suppose the warmth from the house is fooling it a bit. Despite a hard freeze we had a week ago that put the rest of the garden to sleep, this one set out blooms worthy of a June day. The pink kind of clashes with the autumn colors of the tree behind it, but it all works in nature doesn't it?
Nice thing about the cool weather: There are no chomped on petals by the garden bugs looking for a meal. These roses were perfect.

Day 296-365 Sewing

Day 296-365 Sewing, originally uploaded by saralonde.

Halloween costume.

Lighting: taken in the evening when it was getting dark with very little light coming from the windows to the right and light from the sewing machine as a "spotlight". Vignette added to darken extraneous lioght in corners.

Day 295-365 "LOL, I'm Autumn Leaf Crazy"

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Day 295-365 "The Glow of Golden Leaves"

I hesitated taking more autumn leaf shots, but with the sun shining and the colorful season so short, I think it will be a few more days until I get it out of my system :-)

Day 293-365 "Sun is Back!"

Day 293-365 "Sun is Back!", originally uploaded by saralonde.

After a week's worth of clouds and rain, the sun finally broke through today. Thought it would be nice to get some leaves with light, but it proved more difficult than I thought when the wind decided to get involved again.

Day 290-365 "Gleaning Geese"

Looks like they are taking advantage of any corn left behind and I suppose doing their part to ensure a bumper crop next year by doing a little fertilizing ;-).

Day 289-365 "Autumn Leaf Part 2"

Rain is coming which means the leaves will soon be falling like snowflakes. So I decided to get a few more leaf shots before the world is drab and bare once again. Unfortunately, the wind was kicking up a fuss and most of my shots were unuseable. This one wasn't great, but had a bit of sun , so it becomes today's 365.

Windows

All New Orleans, except for the limes in the bottom row.

Day 287-365 "Autumn Rhododendron"

Day 286-365 "Pumpkin Bread"

Perfect with a cup of coffee on an autumn day.

Autumn Colors

I decided I needed to change my header to match the season before winter arrived! I'm kind of enjoying the bright colors right now. They have that "crispy" feel to them, like the crunching leaves underfoot.

I am so technologically challenged! I can't tell you how hard I try to make my image fit into that darn header! Too small, too big...Unlike Goldilocks, I never find the size that is "just right".

Day 285-365 "Pumpkin Spice Cookies"

I seem to be on a food photography kick lately.

Cookies by my daughter Kayt ♥

Day 283-365 "CSI: Backyard"

Sitting in my family room, I heard a loud "thud" on my window. As I approached the window; I saw a large bird fly away. Thinking he only stunned himself, I glanced at the ground only to see this bird. It looks as if it broke its neck instantly, poor thing.

So it's death would not be in vain, I played homicide detective and photographed the point of impact and body. Considered a chalk line, but no chalk.

There is talk of suicide, but there was no note. Perhaps the other bird has something to do with it. A lover's quarrel? A planned house robbery gone horribly wrong? I suppose we'll never know.

Tragic to die so young.

Day 284-365 "Autumn Approaches..."

I'm not looking forward to the coming of winter, but there are a few fleeting weeks in fall that no other season can quite match.

Day 282-365 "Opthamologist Office"

Not a particularly interesting picture, but if you are stuck in a doctor's office with nothing to do, you pull your little point and shoot out and take a pic. It was either this or the counter with a sink.

Day 281-365 "You Like It, It Likes You"

I have no idea what that means...

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Day 280-365 "Chocolate Chip with Pecans"

Day 279-365 "Oatmeal Cookies"

with raisins :-)

Day 278-365 "A.J.'s Buck"

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Day 275-365 Horse

Not liking the foreground grasses very much - too distracting.

Day 277-365 Thyme

Love the tiny pink flowers...

Day 276-365 Hydrangea

Tried to get all experimental, but the farther I went with it, the less I liked it. I'll just chalk it up to a "learning experience."

Day 274-365 Relax

Monday, October 5, 2009

Day 273-365 Duo

Day 272-365 "Autumn Branch"

Day 271-365 Cookies!

For a party :-)

Day 269-365 "Church Steeple"

Love church steeples. There are so many different kinds.

Day 268-365 "Small Town America: Rochester"

I am SO far behind at putting up all my 365s as well as commenting. Everytime I think I'm almost there, I drop back again.

Day 266-365 Peaches

Day 265-365 "An Apple a Day..."

I bought a variety of apples this past weekend and thought I'd do a short series with them. I love that slightly imperfect look locally grown apples have.
