Day 262-365

Day 262-365 , originally uploaded by saralonde {catching-up ♥}.

This big tall weed popped up in my garden. I don't know how it managed to go unnoticed for awhile, but weed or not, it was still pretty in the sun.

Day 261-365 "Late Summer Geraniums"

Since the days and nights are growing colder, I'm taking flower pics until they freeze over to last me the winter long :-).

Day 260-364 Rudibeckia

I love how colorful these Black-eyed Susans are at this time of year and the wonderful contrast of the yello petals and dark centers.

Day 258-365 "Waiting for 'Da-Dough""

Get it? Waiting for Godot?

Oh, nevermind :-)...

HBW!

Day 257-365 "She Baked Again!"

My daughter keeps trying out new recipes. This one is oatmeal and fudgy chocolate bars. Definitely not for those on a diet!

Day 256-365 "Say Good-Bye to Summer"

The roses growing up my fence are fading now.

Day 255-365 "Struggling to Grow"

This isn't a weed, but a flower whose seed found it's way into a crack on my stone steps and grew all on it's own. It's in an odd place, but looks so sweet everytime I walk up.

Day 254-365 "Fresh From the Garden"

Our vegetable garden is small, but it gives us enough to eat fresh.

Day 253-365 "White on Stripes"

Felt iffy about this, but kept it because I liked the way the lines and colors of the fabric stripes echoed those in the blinds on the window.

Day 252-365 "Old Movie Projector"

This was an old Kodak movie projector my family bought years ago. Before DVDs and Videotape, we used to watch home movies in a darkened room with a screen set up to show the pictures. It always took awhile to set it all up and my favorite part is when my dad would run the movie backward. It never failed to get my brother and I howling with laughter to see us diving backwards out of a pool!

Day 202-365 "Forget Me Not"

Hmmm... noticed I forgot Day 202, so I went back to 7-21to see what I had shot that day. Flowers, imagine that :-O! I did find this one among all the shots. Forget Me Nots seemed appropriate since that is what I did.

Day 249-365 "Peachy Keen"

Natural light, crop, curves and tiny bit of unsharp mask. It's so much brighter on my monitor than on flickr {sigh}

Day 246-365 "Shallots"

Tried playing around with a few fancy PS things, then decided to just do a little soft sepia. Simple subject, simple editing.

Day 246-365 "Chocolate Cake"

Today was my husband's birthday. We decided to grab family and go to a restaurant called "Fatheads" (sandwiches as big as your head) for a casual fun dinner. "Great place for my daily pic," I thought.

Of course, I forgot my camera. Second time this week I've walked out the door without it. This left me with a late night shot of a triple chocolate cake my daughter made for him. Almost forgot to take a shot again, so I grabbed a quick one. Bad lighting, bad focus, bad everything. Worse, it's too late in the day for another 365 shot.

Bleah!

But the cake was wonderful!

Day 245-365 "TtV Daisy"

Last of the summer daisies.

Day 244-365 Lavender

Besides roses, I love to grow lavender in my garden. Nothing smells better. In fact, weeding around it turns a chore into a delight.

Day 243-365 "Where's the @#%*! Lilypad!"

When you have a pool in your backyard, it is bound to become very appealing to some uninvited swimmers. This little guy hopped in but, like his brethren, forgot to see if there was a way out. It is definitely in his best interest - and ours - to pull him out and guide toward the koi pond. The first shot is not very good; he was moving as fast as he could to get away from the net my daughter was using. But he relaxes enough to sit still for the second shot. Or he was just plain exhausted!
